UENI runs done-for-you at serious scale, and has since 2014. There’s a ladder above the entry plan: ecommerce stores, Google Business Profile setup, even a dedicated marketer on the top tier. And a 30-day money-back guarantee backs all of it, something we don’t match. If you’ll want an online store or a marketing team from the same vendor later, UENI is the sturdier ladder.
Both services take a questionnaire and hand back a finished website, so the difference lives in the months that follow. UENI’s entry plan includes edits for your first 30 days; after that, unlimited edits start on the Plus tier ($49/mo billed annually, $59 month-to-month). Your Plainsmith site includes five edit requests a month for as long as you’re a client, at $40, and one message is one edit request, however many changes are in it. A sixth in the same month costs $10, or it waits for the next one. The other difference is whether the site can ever leave. Your UENI site lives on their platform. As far as we can find, there is no export path to take it elsewhere. Ours comes down when the plan ends too — the difference is that we sell you the way out. Your domain sits in your name at exact registry cost from day one with us, and $499 less your plan credit buys the whole site outright and ends the monthly, any time.

UENI’s entry plan, billed annually, runs about $250 plus the $79 setup, so call it $330 for year one, or about $380 billed monthly. Want edits past day 30? The Plus tier, $49 a month billed annually and $59 month-to-month, puts year one near $670 with the setup fee, or $787 paid monthly. Plainsmith’s whole first year is $400 paid yearly, or $480 paid monthly, with your domain at exact registry cost on top. Against their entry plan the two are close. But the cheapest UENI year that keeps edits flowing is that $670, against our $400 with five edit requests a month inside it. And at any point in ours, $499 less your plan credit buys the site outright and ends the monthly bill.
